Happy New Year!

2010 sounds like something different, doesn’t it? It’s not going to be the same – it will be a year of discoveries and happiness and riches and optimism. And flying cars and robots who shoot lasers and artificial intelligence systems that try to take over the world.

I may write up my own personal resolutions at some point, but for now, here are my Avitable.com Blog Resolutions for 2010. I resolve to:

  1. Continue to write what I think and call people out who deserve to be called out.
  2. Find humor in the darkest, drippiest corners of the universe.
  3. Encourage comments and dialogue to foster this sense of community that I love so much.
  4. Step out of my comfort zone and write about personal issues from time to time.
  5. Balls, balls, balls, ninjas, and more balls.
  6. Share my life with my closest friends, casual acquaintances, and perfect strangers, without holding back.
  7. Draw more Avitable cartoons.

What is your blog resolution?

@Dave2, CHRISTMAS CARD?!! Why didn’t I get a Christmas card??? You’re dead, Adam. I mean that in a most emotionally evolved way, of course.

Hey… it’s not like he WANTED to send me a card… he pretty much HAD to. After drawing him a shirt to sell at Avitaween two years running AND breathing toxic glue fumes to stick soldiers to his war-room table decoration for this year’s party… well… I EARNED that card!

What have you done for Avitable lately?

  5. My blog resolution…I want to be more open. I want to be less afraid of what my family will think of what I write. I want to write more from my heart, and not let my brain filter quite as much of it out.

Happy New Year. Thanks for all your support in 2009

Mine should be to write more, but it’s not. I want to grow the friendships I’ve made, make new friends, and let people know I care about them. It’s hard sometimes, to reach out from the other side of the glass screen and say “hey, I think you’re pretty cool and I’d like to get to know you better.” But I do and I would.

I don’t think I have any blog resolutions…except I may start playing my life a little closer to the vest. I haven’t decided yet.

  11. I think I will try blogging less. I do it almost every single day and sometimes I just put out the first thing that comes to mind, whether it’s good or not and I’d rather have quality over quantity. Having to work now has taken a bit of my creativity and I need to find the balance.

    Oh, and I need ninja’s!

Be more personal…meaning close my laptop more and be amongst people, rather than blogging behind my laptop screen. My blogging style probably won’t change – it’s worked for nearly 11 years, why change it?

On my blog, I resolve to write 3 times/week at least, share a little less about the kids, and reveal more about me.

    I have a few.

    1. Blog more consistently, without doing the few breaks I took in 2009
    2. Start a new blog, one that I’ve been working on for over a year
    3. Introduce a couple of new topics on my current blog
    4. Become a better writer, thanks to blogging.

Hmmmmm, I don’t really believe in resolutions, blog-style or otherwise. If I had to come up with something, I’d endeavor to avoid having another 2 month blog silence because I was just too damn busy. :) No more of that.

To Write. I’ve been having a problem lately “finding my voice”. I finished the World’s Most Boring Project 365 on the 31st and I’m really pissed at myself for using it as a cop-out. I was posting pictures daily, so I used it as an excuse to stop writing. I want to get back to writing!

And really, how can you go wrong with more balls?
