Well . . . ummm . . . so that backfired

So, yesterday’s post was, indeed, an April Fool’s prank. I figured that it was simple, but obvious, if only because of the date alone. It didn’t occur to me that, with the divorce and other shit going on in my life, people would think it was actually true! And not only think it was true, but be really awesome and sweet and supportive about it. Damn you people for making me feel bad about a prank!

I apologize for stirring the cockles of your heart, and I assure you that I’m not going anywhere. This is my place on the Internet – where I can say whatever I want, whenever I want. Where I can rant and joke and hang out with my friends, some of whom have made it on my newly decorated photo wall. (And if you’re not on here, it probably means I don’t have a photo of us – email me one and I’ll add you!)

    Fucker.

In defense of my gullability, you publish in yesterday on the west coast so it wasn’t April Fool’s Day yet here.

I’m glad you’re ok. I’m gonna punch you in the arm when I see you next, but I’m glad you’re ok.

Oh GOOD. A small part of me thought it might be a joke, so I was going to play it safe and wait until tomorrow to comment. πŸ˜‰ But I’m glad you aren’t going away – the internets would have been so much less blasphemous without you! Too tame.

I was a bit shocked that my photo was so small (and mostly of you)… but then I figure if we were to pan to the next wall, it’s probably ALL ME, so I am reigning in my disappointment.

Actually, due to your situation and the fact that you haven’t been responding to comments as much lately (and often just getting lazy and posting vids of other stuff), I assumed it was true. By way of support, I left a snarky comment dismissing it as an April Fool’s prank, which may have contributed to your need to post an apology / retraction. I lost track – which one of us is laughing at the other?

I wasn’t sure if you were pranking or not, but then I asked myself, ‘What would The Comedian do?’ and I knew you were.

Nonetheless, glad your still here on your piece of internet real estate. I’ll wait on the picture thing until I can get one of us together. Preferably with both of us in dresses.

I had a nice, heart-felt and VERY thoughtful comment ready to go yesterday and suddenly though “wait a minute!” to myself. So I deleted the whole thing and decided to wait a day to see if it really was what I thought it was. I figured I could be nice anytime if it was true. No need to rush. haha

Hah! I *knew* it! I was taken in for longer by the Daily Writing tips people – I didn’t expect them to have a sense of humor. You, on the other hand, I could see chuckling evilly while you typed.
But, for the record, I did click through JIC.

I am glad to hear it was a prank.

Oh and apparently you need to come visit Austin, so we -can- get a picture together. πŸ™‚ What with me being unemployed, I can sadly not visit you in FL just now. πŸ˜›
