I was going to steal this from you but it would be way too hard for me to make those kind of decisions.
I love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang!
Reply
@Amanda, it was hard for some of them, but others were easier categories.

Keep Firing Assholes!!! I can practically recite Spaceballs, don’t know if that makes me awesome or completely lame. Airplane! never gets old either.
Reply
@Angela, that makes you awesome. I know Spaceballs by heart!

Sooo agreed about Time Traveler’s Wife. Damn thing makes me bawl. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is pretty incredible.
When I read Van Helsing my mind filled in Valhalla Rising instead. Have you seen that? The music alone annoys the everloving shit out of me.
Reply
@Poppy, I’ve never seen that, no.

Way too much to say on this post. My brain has overloaded. But I will say that there are a ton of documentaries that you should watch. If you want, I will email you a list.
Reply
@B.E. Earl, what’s overloaded your brain? I’ve seen several documentaries, but I just can’t think of one that really stood out. I need to see a few of the newer ones – especially the ones you were talking about the other day.

Damn it. Sandlot had to fit in there somewhere.
Reply
@Nanna, I’ve never seen it.

I have seen 21 of the movies on your list, and walked out on “The Fifth Element.”
Reply
@Alex, you have some of the most weirdly skewed taste in movies of anyone I know.

I have to go with Team America for favorite musical only because every SINGLE day of my life I have one of those stupid songs in my head! Also because Matt and Trey are the coolest.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is my 5 year old’s favorite movie!
Reply
@Loukia, Team America has some great songs, too.

I bet most people could do this thing a dozen times and come up with a different movie for almost all of them every time. It’s so hard to just come up with one for each.
Anyway, I’m going to steal this one.
Reply
@Jay, yeah, there were many categories where I had to make a difficult choice.

Thanks for putting Shut Your Fucking Face, Uncle Fucker in my head.

Loved Casino Royale!
Did you like the Mechanic? I’m a fan of assassin (and Jason Statham) movies, but the reviews haven’t been that good.
I don’t know if I can remember enough movies to fill this out, but I might try.
Reply
@Kimberly, I thought the Mechanic was fun, actually. My expectations weren’t very high, though, so that may have had an effect.
Reply
Of course, your favorite is The Fifth Element….
We were going to name our son, Korbyn Dallas. A nasty friend of mine stole the name..
Reply
@Julie {Angry Julie Monday}, such a great name! I would name my kid Leelu Multipass.

My favorite sequel was BTTF 3, not 2, Spaceballs it the best, and my first movie in the theater was Return of the Jedi!
Oh, and I thought you were changing the name of CYR to something about you participating in a train???
Reply
@Blondefabulous, I like that name, yeah, but I think I’m going to keep it the same as it is now.
Reply
@Avitable, I liked the new ‘Train’ name too. Though then you’d be indebted to Faiqa…

My favorite musical is ‘Chicago’. I’m not a huge fan of Richard Gere or Catherine Zeta Jones, but they were both quite good in it. Of course Renee Zellweger was fabulous!
Reply
@Employee No. 3699, I liked that movie quite a bit, too. It’s really catchy.
Reply
I will definitely steal this. But I think I will drag it out.
ad for documentaries, you should see “King of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters.”
Reply
@Paticus, I’ve heard that one is good.

OK, we have some overlap here. I cannot agree with you, however, on The Time Traveler’s Wife. I *PPH* both actors, but I hated the book too. NOTHING HAPPENS. ZZZZZZ…
Also, Daredevil? Really? I only barely tolerated it because Colin was in it (and so much fun to watch). But even I was rolling my eyes!
Reply
@Megan, I’ve seen Time Traveler’s Wife several times and I love it every time. Daredevil is a total guilty pleasure, too – it’s just so fun!

@Avitable, I’m so lame. I got into it and then was like, this is taking even more brain power than I thought it would be. So I stopped. I may still do it eventually.

I see you had nothing for #13 – documentary.
If you’ve never seen March of the Penguins, you’ve really missed a good one. It is one of my all time favorites and I watch it every winter.

As always, I am dumbfounded by your hatred of “The Incredibles.” Easily right up there with “The Dark Knight” as one of my favorite super-hero movies ever. Wipes the floor with the shitty “Fantastic Four” and “X-Men” films.

@Dave2, I like the Incredibles, too. The children like it more than I do, but I don’t mind their watching it multiple times, either.
I too love “Airplane!” as favorite comedy!

Van Helsing was such a letdown. I’ve still seen it several times, because I’m a sucker for Hugh Jackman, but I wanted it to be so much more.
I’m going to steal this for my blog. Because I can easily do it while (not) supervising my children, and I don’t post over there enough, but I’m slack enough to appropriate this.
