About life

If you had asked me in 2001, 2004, or even 2009, “Adam, what are you going to be doing in 2011?” my answer may have been something about having kids, running my business, being a part of a solid relationship, and just continuing down my same path.

It would not be anything about considering getting rid of the security of my life, divesting myself of the things I hold dear, and considering a potential career in comedy.

I love it, though. I think I’m good at it, and I really want to do it. I may be writing this from a place of inebriation, but that doesn’t make it any less true.

There is something fantastic about getting up on stage and saying words that make people laugh. It’s addicting and intoxicating and about a hundred kinds of awesome. It takes so much more than just writing comedy. It’s a whole other dimension of wonderful.

I don’t need support. This is something I know I can do. I feel it with every breath and with the blood rushing through my veins.

I was born to do this.

Sometimes you have to take the risk Adam, especially if you believe in what you’re doing. I wish you all the best!

I would argue that the inebriation makes it MORE true.

Shouting “Yes, I can” is often the first step. Do it to it, dude.

Let me put it another way. You’re drunk.

If you still feel this way when you’re sober, do it.

Drink makes a man feel mighty. Yes, you can. Yes, you want to. Drink helps you get to yes.

    Sober reflection: Yes, but…

As you acknowledge, it will be hard, it will be humiliating from time to time, it will cost you a lot in the short term.

But it will be exhilarating. You will be doing something few other people can. You will be making use of your talents in a way that lawyering doesn’t let you.

Sounds like you could make this decision without alcohol, Adam.

Does this mean you won’t be posting pictures of your balls on here anymore? Because ‘accidently’ showing pictures of your balls to my husband keeps me entertained. As long as he’s gullible enough to keep looking when I say, “Hey check this out!”

Otherwise I would definately go see you!

I think this is great and It’s refreshing to see that there are still people in this world that have the guts to do what they love. A lot of people don’t want to do the work or are too afraid.
    Awesome, Adam. Really Awesome.
