I need a vacation!

Have you seen the Holiday Concert hosted by Neilochka?  There are a ton of amazing contributions from bloggers all over the world, and I’m happy to be amongst them.

Obviously, you can see mine over there, but I’m also sharing it here, too:

This is my first Christmas since the divorce. I started out feeling grinchy but have since gotten into the Christmas spirit, buying and decorating a real tree, hanging lights, and even occasionally playing a Christmas song. The one thing I’m not doing this year is getting presents for anyone. Except myself. The gift I’m going to give myself this year is permission to take two weeks off of blogging.

I’m not quite as committed a blogger as some people. While I have blogged every single day for the better part of the almost seven years I’ve been blogging, I do take the occasional break, and I think this holiday is a good time for me to do that. I’ll probably pop up with a Christmas post, I’m sure, but I’m going to free myself from the self-imposed obligation to post every day, at least until 2011 starts.

Merry Christmas, me.

I really loved your reading. You have a great voice for reading aloud.

Merry Christmas, Adam. I hope you enjoy your time off! Maybe you can build a snowman while you’re in Park City since Utah is bogarting all the western snow.

Have a great break – you deserve it!
Best wishes from a snowless but mighty cold (by our standards) south of France…
Looking forward to your return in 2011.

Jesus was born in another time of the year so that you should feel obligated to buy me stuff during December. If you stop blogging and don’t become a mindless consumer then the terrorists will have won. I hope this straightens you out.

I loved the illustrations in this. It was one of my favorite parts of the concert yesterday.

Time off is good. I’m taking time off from my regular routine in preparation for some changes I’m planning on making in January. It feels good, like a weight lifted.

Well done! Love the unicorn and Shaniqua shout out. Never can have too much of that around Christmas time! Glad you’ve gotten into the spirit and decided to give yourself the gift of non-obligation!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just got around to reading this today. And it’s funny. Since I did NaBlo, I kept posting every day. And I was looking to you for the inspiration to keep posting every day. 😛

Enjoy your break! It’s nice to shrug off some responsibility sometimes, and just recharge.

    Aw… very good!

    Merry Christmas to you too!

I will admit that the first time I started watching this my kids were in the room. I saw the neked drawing and quickly turned it off… worried you would be anatomically correct.

However, I was wrong. It was very nicely done 🙂

    Enjoy your 2 weeks off…
