It's not always about being funny.

The things I need to say to myself

I am always learning and changing, but there’s nothing wrong with me the way I am right now.
I trust in people to show that they can always trust in me, and it’s not my fault if they let me down.
I have to cut out something I love if it continues to hurt me.
I will be happy.
I’m not selfish if I take care of myself first so I can make sure I’ll be there for other people when they need me.
My ability to fall in love and be a romantic is not a crutch nor a liability.
I’m not being mean if I stand up for myself and defend my actions and intentions.
I’ll find someone who appreciates me for me.
I can’t control everything, and that’s okay.
I do not need anyone’s approval because I know what I’m doing.
My life will turn out fine, with or without you. It will be your loss, not mine.
I’m worth it.
It’s not egotistical to know that I’m good at something and to be confident that I will succeed.
I’m not like you, but that doesn’t mean that I’m doing anything wrong.
Being someone that people can count on is a good trait, even if there are those who will take advantage of it.
I have clear, honest, pure motives with my life, regardless what you say.
She’s out there, somewhere. I will find her.
It’s not mean or selfish to get rid of those who constantly let you down.
I do not need to play games, lie, or manipulate anyone to be happy.
I’m not a sucker for always being the bigger person and for always taking the high road.
I’m stronger than this.
I’m better than this.
I will beat this.
I can.

Hey, did you borrow some of those from Stuart Smalley? ๐Ÿ™‚

But if I can beat it, so can you. And I think you already have.

Thanks for all the laughs over the years, you DO know what you are doing!

Late to the party – just got to this post now.
Definitely no need to apologize to anyone for being true to yourself or honest.
    Insert Stallone quote here:
_ Once in one’s life, for one mortal moment, one must make a grab for immortality; if not, one has not lived.
_ Live your life, ’cause you’ve got a good one.
_ You know what you are… what you’re made of. War is in your blood. Don’t fight it.
_ Don’t waste your life, I did. Go home.
_ The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!
_ The world meets nobody halfway. When you want something, you gotta take it.
